Yoga in the Bloom: A Soulful Summer Gathering at Prairie Belle Flower Farm

There’s a certain kind of magic in outdoor yoga, especially when we come together in nature—to move, to breathe, to simply be. This past August and September, I had the absolute joy of co-hosting Yoga in the Bloom at Prairie Belle Flower Farm, guiding a group of beautiful souls through a morning of movement, mindfulness, and creativity.

But this was more than just an event. It was an immersive wellness experience—a deep exhale in the midst of life’s busyness, where yoga, meditation, and nature connection wove together seamlessly.

A Sanctuary in Yoga in the Bloom

From the moment we arrived at Prairie Belle Flower Farm, it was as if the world softened. The flower fields, bursting with color, welcomed us like an old friend. A gentle stillness filled the air, broken only by the rustling of leaves and the occasional song of a bird overhead. This was a place that naturally invited us to slow down, to listen, to be present.

As we laid our yoga mats on the soft grass, I could feel the energy shift—shoulders relaxing, breaths deepening, the quiet realization that we had given ourselves permission to pause.

Flowing with Nature

Guiding the yoga practice felt effortless, as if the land itself was part of our flow. The warmth of the morning sun kissed our skin, the gentle breeze carried away tension, and with each stretch and movement, we melted deeper into the moment.

Some participants were experienced yogis, while others stepped onto the mat for the first time—but none of that mattered. We moved together, each finding our own rhythm, allowing nature to hold space for whatever we needed.

  • Child’s Pose became a moment of surrender.

  • Cat-Cow was a gentle reminder of the cycles we all move through.

Then came the sound bath—a moment of pure stillness. As the vibrations filled the air, I watched faces soften, breaths deepen, and a collective sense of peace settle over the group. It was a moment that lingers in the soul long after it ends.

Flower Picking

Bloom & Create

With hearts full and bodies relaxed, we stepped into the flower fields, baskets and vases in hand. There is something deeply meditative about picking fresh flowers—choosing each stem with intention, running fingertips along delicate petals, inhaling the earth’s natural fragrance.

Some gravitated toward bold sunflowers, radiating joy and warmth. Others were drawn to the calming scent of lavender or the delicate beauty of dahlias. Each handpicked bouquet was as unique as the hands that crafted it, a reflection of the energy we carried in that moment.

Laughter bubbled up between moments of reflection, and I couldn’t help but smile at the way creativity and connection unfolded naturally. Even as we arranged our flowers, the principles of yoga and mindfulness lingered—being present, embracing imperfection, and allowing beauty to unfold naturally.

A Day to Remember

As we packed up our yoga mats and carried our handcrafted floral bouquets home, I felt a deep sense of gratitude—not just for the beauty of the morning, but for the people who showed up with open hearts, ready to experience something truly special.

Yoga in the Bloom wasn’t just about movement or flowers; it was about connection—to ourselves, to each other, and to the land that nourishes us. It was a reminder that sometimes, the most healing thing we can do is step outside, breathe deeply, and allow ourselves to simply be.

If this speaks to your soul, I would love for you to join us next season. Come roll out your mat, gather a handful of blooms, and experience the magic for yourself.

Until then, keep breathing, keep blooming.
